2011 Chevrolet Equinox

For 2011, the Chevrolet Equinox's optional V6 now has E85 capability. Enhancements include heated cloth seats on 2LT models and a compass on LS models. A USB port, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and Bluetooth connectivity are now standard on 1LT models, and OnStar service has been upgraded to standard Directions and Connections (providing access to OnStar's navigation and information services) for a six-month trial period.
Introduction

Roomy and graced with an available snappy V6, the previous-generation Equinox had its charms, but it didn't shine brightly enough to surpass its rivals. As a result, Chevy's capable but undistinguished hauler was left to linger on the lots as shoppers flocked to more popular choices from the likes of Honda and Toyota. But thanks to a full redesign last year, the latest Equinox has vaulted up to be a top pick in the small crossover SUV segment.

The 2011 Chevrolet Equinox boasts character and refinement two traits that were missing in previous-generation models, and indeed many small crossovers in general. With a rear seat that slides back to create an expanse worthy of a prom-night limousine, the Equinox easily counts rear legroom among its strengths. Ride quality is another plus, with the Equinox delivering a stable, well-planted ride. In terms of equipment, the Chevy is fully competitive, with plenty of standard features and some nice upgrades like a hard-drive-based navigation system.

Under the hood you'll find a choice of either a 182-horsepower inline-4 or a 264-hp V6. Both of these engines deliver respectable acceleration, and the four-cylinder is notable for its above-average fuel economy (even though we've found it doesn't quite meet its lofty EPA estimates). Another Equinox selling point is its upscale good looks; the cabin is attractive and expensive-looking and features interior materials quality that's finally competitive with other choices in this segment.

2011 Chevrolet Cruze

2011 Chevrolet Cruze
With names like Chevette and Cavalier in its past, Chevrolet doesn't exactly have a strong track record in the compact-car market. Chevy's last compact, the Cobalt, was an improvement, but it still couldn't face the likes of the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla.

For 2011, Chevrolet is upping the ante in the small-car game with the Cruze 4-door sedan, a car that is improved over the Cobalt in almost every way. But with a higher price than the Cobalt, can the Cruze be a hit? Based on our test drive, it should be.

Model Lineup
The 2011 Chevrolet Cruze is offered in five trims: LS, 1LT, 2LT, LTZ and the fuel-efficient Eco. Standard equipment on the LS includes cloth upholstery, air conditioning, interior air filter, tilt/telescoping steering wheel, height-adjustable front seats, 60/40 split folding rear seat, power windows, power locks, remote keyless entry, AM/FM/CD stereo, XM satellite radio, auxiliary input jack, trip computer, automatic headlights and P215/60R16 tires on steel wheels with wheel covers.

The 1LT adds power mirrors and floor mats, while the 2LT gets leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, heated front seats, 6-way power adjustable driver's seat, iPod adapter, Bluetooth cell phone link, remote engine starting and alloy wheels.

The Eco trim features unique 17-inch alloy wheels with low-rolling-resistance tires and an aerodynamics package that includes active shutters in the front fascia that close at speed to improve fuel economy.

The top-of-the-line LTZ adds rear disc brakes, rear park assist, automatic climate control, cruise control, auto-dimming rearview mirror, sport suspension and P225/45R18 tires.

The Cruze's list of standard safety features is impressive. It includes 10 airbags (front, front side, front knee, curtain side and rear side), a tire-pressure monitor, anti-lock brakes, traction control and electronic stability control.

2011 Chevrolet Caprice Police Car Revealed: Based on Australian Holden Caprice, LWB Version of Pontiac G8
By kleo. Car Reviews , Chevrolet No Comments

2011-chevrolet-caprice-police.jpg
Looks like Bob Lutz was right after all when back in July he said that the Pontiac G8 would live on as the Chevrolet Caprice – even though shortly after he hastily took his words back. Apparently, what Lutz meant to say was that the G8 would live on as a law enforcement car as GM revealed the all-new Chevrolet Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle (PPV) at the annual International Association of Chiefs of Police convention, in Denver, Colorado.

Set to join the ranks of law enforcement departments across North America in 2011, the new Caprice is essentially a remasked version of the Australian Holden Caprice and Statesman models which in turn are more luxurious, long wheelbase versions of the Holden Commodore and its American counterpart, the Pontiac G8 that will soon be discontinued.

And just to confuse you a bit more, the Holden Caprice and its Statesman twin are already sold in the Middle East as the Chevrolet Caprice.

As with the Commodore and the G8, the Chevrolet Caprice PPV is based on GM’s Zeta RWD platform that also underpins the new Chevy Camaro. It uses the longest wheelbase of the architecture that measures 118.5 inches (3,010 mm) in length along with a four-wheel independent suspension
At launch, the Chevy Caprice PPV will be offered exclusively with a GM 6.0-liter V8 with fuel-saving Active Fuel Management technology and E85 capability but GM said that in the 2012 model year, a smaller displacement V6 engine will also be offered.

The Caprice PPV’s V8 churns out an estimated 355 horsepower (265 kW) and 384 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission that is specially calibrated for police duty. The Detroit automaker said that the Caprice V8 can sprint from zero to 60mph (96km/h) in under 6.0 seconds.

Additional police car-specific powertrain and vehicle system features include: a high-output alternator, engine oil, transmission and power steering coolers, 18-inch steel wheels with bolt-on center caps, larger four-wheel disc brakes with heavy-duty brake pads, heavy-duty suspension components, police-calibrated stability control system and driver information center in the instrument cluster with selectable speed tracking feature.

According to GM, the Caprice PPV can also be equipped with special equipment packages such as spotlights; lockouts for the power windows and locks; and an “undercover” street-appearance package (9C3).

“The new Chevrolet Caprice police car is the right tool at the right time for law enforcement,” said Jim Campbell, general manager for GM Fleet and Commercial Operations. “We asked for a lot of feedback from our police customers, which helped us develop a vehicle that is superior to the Crown Victoria in key areas.”

General Motors pointed out that the new Caprice PPV will not replace the Chevy Impala that will continue to offered in police outfit along with the Tahoe.

1970 Chevrolet Camaro Collection Review

The state of things was not too sad in 1970 itself. The new Camaro was released with great fanfare and success at the end of the year 1970 model. Most of the credit went to the new style, which was of European inspiration. Still based on Scotland, the new Camaro, two inches longer and had gates more than five inches, and is now only available as a coupe (not convertible). She had a new front suspension arm and insultation better sound. Under the hood, never the new project of 454 units and she has continued Camaro SS with the 350 and 396 engines. After January 1970, but 396 engines are no longer displaced 396 cubic inches. Chevrolet actually extended to 402 cubic inches, but the leaders decided to name the 396 to take advantage of name recognition and avoid the attention of insurance companies. RS option now included a free-standing grill, bumperettes twin, Endura rubber frame grill and parking lights between headlights and grille.

SS option included a black grille special hidden windshield, power brakes, tires engine trim, white-letter, chrome exhaust, and SS396 also came with panels painted in black trunk and a special suspension.

1970 Camaro was a big change of style. Gone was the old square shape to look more European. Chevrolet had some capacity problems and the car was not published until the end of February 1970. The new design was a success, but because of the production lot of short sales data does not truly represent the popularity of the 1970 Camaro.

As usual, the Rally Sport or RS package is available for all three models Camaro. Camaro RS option to include advanced security features to share bumpers, windscreen wipers hidden and RS symbols. Retail $ 165 package and added 27,136,124,901 Camaro, and was built in 1970.

Bottom Camaro could be either small or six-cylinder 307ci V8. The next step was the performance of a Super Sport or choose a 350ci 396ci V8. Camaro SS muscle car was a version of the trio. It 'been a solid performer in a straight line. For those interested in the course of the SS was a good balance between price and performance. The admission price was 10-15% less than the Z/28.

2011 Chevrolet Equinox

Since then, the new 2010 Chevrolet Equinox rolled into showrooms last year, consumers have responded enthusiastically to this right size for a crossover. It produces a distinctive style and best-in-highway EPA fuel economy § egmènt of 32 miles per gallon when equipped with a standard 2.4-liter Ecotec direct injected engine.

Equinox is 2,011 years the model of a strong demand for vehicles purchased in almost as soon as they reach the dealers. More than half of Equinox buyers have moved to non-GM brands. And keep up with demand, GM is retooling the plant to increase production capacity.

Available in LS, LT and LTZ trim, and available all-wheel drive, Equinox to complete its design and fuel efficiency with the attention to detail and unexpected features.

2011 Chevrolet Cruze Review

Many of Chevy owners are heartbroken when they stopped was knighted in 2005. Fortunately, many of them did so before the remains of high quality vehicles, one usually sees on the road. However, there is a building of new excitement in the new sedan is in sight. 2011 Chevy Cruze is still in production, but so far the response to retailers and consumers is very attractive.

Consumers who are aware of how much money they spend on fuel will find the 2011 Chevy Cruze to be one of the most effective out there on the road. It will provide up to 40 mpg on the highway. It will also be plenty of power with the turbocharged 1.4 liter in it. There is much to rave with trial versions of it, and most believe it is a car that will quickly become a bestseller in Europe and America.

Although the first prototypes of the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze was unveiled at trade shows in Europe in late 2008. In spring 2009 they will go on sale in Europe. The exact color will be offered has not yet been revealed. It is believed that GM is still working to finalize these decisions. They agreed that the interior will feature a look at two tones is very nice and very different from what you find on the market today. The price is still relatively unknown. However, it is believed that the basic model 2011 Chevrolet Cruze MSRP will be approximately $ 15.500 to compete with others in its class.

Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 2011 The Best Sports Car

Due to the dramatic presentation of the prototype, the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray ( Centennial ) in Salon Chicago a few days ago. A futurologist anxious as the website has taken the job of recreating a version of this model for future Le Mans of 2011 . A dream that could become reality, if indeed this is the prototype of the new Corvette ( C7 )

The most stunning area of the ZR1 is obviously the performance. This car will reach 60 mph in just over three seconds, which is quicker than a $300k Ferrari 599! And you'll roll on to a top sepp of about 205 mph! It's very ballistic, possibly the most ballistic a car can get.

The only downside of this car is its interior. For a $120k sports car, I would've expected better seats and better interior materials. But overall, you cannot ignore the ZR1s inane performance and insane handling, not even if you're an Italian supercar fan.

Here's what's possible when you apply everything you've learned in racing and engineering for a single car - the Corvette ZR1 (very limited availability). With 638-hp LS9 engine was supercharged and superior test-track speed of 205 mph, it was GM's fastest production car of all time. The ZR1 is the overall winner of the 2010 Car and Driver Lightning Lap competition, which pitted it against the ZR1 the fastest car in the world.

ZR1 engineer was religious about keeping the ratio of power-to-weight advantage. So they set a high strength, lightweight materials wherever possible. One example is the aluminum frame structure (the same used on the C6.R race cars), which weighs 138 pounds. less than an equivalent steel structure. Results: The ratio of power-to-weight highly profitable by 5.2 kilograms per horsepower.

New Chevrolet Cruze CS Sport

New Chevrolet Cruze CS Sport- done their thrifty little sedans with a ambush bargain suspension, rear addle-brain and allegory wheels, beeline from the factory. The attending helps the car resemble the Silverline Cruze currently bashing about the British Touring Car Championship. We absolutely dig on the white 18-inch multi-spoke alloys. They attending appropriate at home on the dejected car in the high-res arcade apparent here, abnormally accustomed the added advancing attitude served up by the reworked suspension.

General Motors is calling the amalgamation the CS administration kit, and those absent a little added annoyance with their Cruze bigger get accessible to carapace out £1,595, or $2,410 at accepted barter rates. As the Cruze starts at about $15,500, that's a not bush bulk of dosh, but it additionally adds a acceptable bulk of attendance to the visuals and hopefully improves handling.

2010 New Chevrolet Camaro Sports Car UFC Limited Edition

Most great and amazing sport elegant car 2010 Chevrolet Camaro interior design and exterior body kit design that will make you interesting. The UFC sports car maker now a days launched it is teaming up with Findlay Customs and Modern Muscle Las Vegas to release 10 Limited Edition UFC Chevrolet Camaros sports car. UFC, in combination with Findlay Customs and Modern Muscle Las Vegas will build the limited-edition 2010 UFC Camaros sports car complete with 650 Super-charged powerful engine horsepower and one-of-a-kind vehicles features which will create even the most die-hard UFC fan or gear head stand up and get notice.
2010 New Chevrolet Camaro Sports Car UFC Limited Edition
The 2010 Chevrolet Camaro sports car looks like a new vehicle, but it was built from existing GM parts from other models. They started with the chassis architecture of the impressive Pontiac G8 and engines from Cadillac and Covette. GM made the new Camaro drop-dead gorgeous, with high performance, and affordable.
The interior of the new Camaro is comfortable and materials are good, but the exterior styling is where it shines. The stitched leather wrap on the steering wheel is nice, and the bucket seats are comfortable, with decent bolstering, but may not be enough to keep an aggressive driver in his or her place during aggressive cornering.
The front seat slides 8.5 inches, the steering wheel tilts and telescopes, and the seat can be raised up for better visibility, so drivers of all sizes will fit. The excellent leather upholstery is available in black, gray, beige and two-tone Inferno Orange.
The climate control buttons on the center stack didn't seem to be designed for ease of touch, but more for looks, but I have seen worse. Visibility through the windshield is good despite the long hood and raked windshield, thanks to careful location of the driver's seat and the ability to raise it. Rear visibility over the driver's shoulder isn't very good, but then it's impossible to make it good with a chopped roofline that gives it its sporty look.
The new Camaro sports car succeeds for all the reasons to buy this sports car, great looks and styling, a very potent and efficient engine borrowed from Cadillac, great performance and handling, and a good price point. I have test driven the Dodge Challenger SRT8, and the Ford Mustang GT. For my money I would choose the new Camaro sports car.
The first UFC Camaro will be auctioned off at Barrett-Jackson's Orange County collector car auction taking place June 25-27 at the OC Fair & Events Center.  The winning bidder will also come away with a UFC experience package that includes an inaugural drive with UFC President Dana White, backstage VIP access to a UFC event, meet and greets with UFC fighters, an autographed OCTOGON book and UFC gear.
The Camaro is being auctioned for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, a charity dedicated to providing financial assistance to dependents of US military personnel lost in the line of duty.

Chevrolet CORVETTE Racing at Sebring 2010

Back in August when General Motors introduced the all-new GT2 class Corvette C6.R, it ran downsized 6.0-liter version of the 7.0-liter V8 from the long-dominant GT1 car. At the launch, Corvette Racing program manager Doug Fehan told us the 6.0-liter was just an interim engine. With revised GT rules on tap for 2010, GM was already planning a brand-new engine for its race Vette.
Chevrolet CORVETTE Racing at Sebring 2010
Unlike the 6.0/7.0, which is a ground-up race engine that only shares basic architectural dimensions with the production small block, the 2010 C6.R's V8 is a new 5.5-liter unit that will indeed be derived from the production engine found in roadgoing Corvettes. In fact, the 5.5-liter race engine will be built at GM's Performance Build Center alongside ZR1 and Z06 V8s.
Chevrolet CORVETTE Racing at Sebring 2010
Fehan has confirmed that the 5.5 is running on the dyno and will make its race debut at the 12 Hours of Sebring in March. We don't have any additional details on the new engine yet, although we were told earlier that it is based on the next-generation production small-block, which we expect to see in the Corvette soon
Chevrolet CORVETTE Racing at Sebring 2010
Corvette Racing is preparing for the season-opening round of the 2010 American Le Mans Series, the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, to be held in Sebring, Fla., on March 20. Forty years ago, Sebring set the stage for some highly competitive racing among Cobras, Ferraris, and Corvettes.
Chevrolet CORVETTE Racing at Sebring 2010
Difficult weather and trying mechanical situations added a challenging dimension to an exciting event. In light of recent C5-R successes and the impending start of yet another season of American Le Mans Series competition, a look back at the effort put forth by the privateer Corvette camp lends amazing perspective.
Chevrolet CORVETTE Racing at Sebring 2010
Corvette Racing will compete in the GT (formerly GT2) class against entries representing Porsche, Ferrari, BMW, Jaguar, and Ford. Corvette Racing drivers Johnny O'Connell, Jan Magnussen, and Antonio Garcia are testing the No. 3 Compuware Corvette C6.R. Oliver Gavin, Olivier Beretta, and Emmanuel Collard are testing the No. 4 Compuware Corvette C6.R.
