Please do not try to thwart the campaign. We are trying to address a specific issue, which is about blocking approvals when dates are current, and for that, we are using this current fiasco as an example. The USCIS memo specifically talks about EB2 india, china applicants on hold. Since EB3 was listed as U, we cannot do anything about it. If both EB2 and EB3 were current, I would have given a call to both. There is no belittling out here. the Circumstances are like that.
EB2 and EB3 are working together in the visa re-cpature.
This is a separate issue, but will be useful when visa re-capture is successful.

Every EB3 after a little more experience gets qualified into EB2. Cant the department understand this , which we all do. There is no order. Lets together fight for a common cause and not discrimiate between Eb2 or EB3.
Commonsense rule is , if you are allowing 10 H1s to be processed, then why are you processing only 2-3 Greencards. What abot the remaining 7 and why should they wait, even after 8 years???.
Spillover and quotas are all BS.
Lets raise our voice together and see if they follow some discipline.
Anyone more than 8-10 years of being in the US and who followed the rules with merit deserves citizenship. Lets voice together as a campaign and get it straight. Yes, I am in the US for 9 years now..

Granted you scored a point when you were allowed to file for employment authorization this July. If your one rally worked, do you really think other rallies will work too? The world of politics is driven by numbers; you do not have enough numbers to get any lawmaker interested. So wake up Macacas, admit it, you all are bunch of losers.
So far as the skills are concerned, you have been harping on the theme that you are highly skilled? If the definition of highly skilled is a mere undergrad degrees then 75% of Adult Americans are highly skilled. I bet not even 5% of you have PHDs and you call yourself highly skilled. Huhhh
And this for the leadership of your organization: You are wasting your time. If you are so desperate to get green cards contact me. We will see what we can do� One thing I believe though is this country needs people with leadership skills and not so called "Highly Skilled". So I will be more than happy to work with you. We understand your frustration, but we would need some more info from you. Could you please look at the first post in this thread and send us your info.
We already have about 30 stories sent to us and the truth is we are in much better shape now when we go to meet senators. We can actually point out examples and not speak in general terms which makes them sit up and listen.

-- Grass root & state level efforts work only when there are a lot of grass root workers. For example independence struggle in india worked due to grass root efforts. But please try to understand that things are different here --- by definition, we are immigrants, our numbers are limited in this country.
Okay. Its obvious that we need more participation from members for higher rate of success for IV campaigns.
Simply put, groups working in isolated corners of the country are having no effect on the politicians, because each area has only a few people and the politicians are not seeing the combined effect.
"Grass root efforts" may sound very trendy, but are actually leading us no where............yes we need it......but at the same time IV has to have a strong leadership who can show their strenght by doing phone / lettere campaigns.
Actually I disagree with you on two fronts. Even with low member participation, whatever success IV had is to a large measure due to the member participation. Second point is your post seem to suggest, I might have misread your statement, that just the IV leadership alone can make the phone/letter campaign a success. How? I am not privy to IV core information but I would doubt that just the IV core calling and writing letters would persuade the folks in DC to change their position.
My take is that the IV core can help come up with focused action items, and its by increasing grass roots effort that we can achieve the IV goals. IV core can also help with the lobbying activity, which again needs funds from the members. Increasing member participation in IV is the difficult part. Talk is easy.

Here is the dilemma.... The Idea is great...It can change our lives But if we sit on the idea for long it will rot So DO WE TAKE ACTION or LET US WAIT FOR CORE TO COME UP WITH SOLUTION. I would suggest we form a small committee or group of people who can brainstorm and come up with possible course of actions and then present the idea to core.
This is similar to House->Judiciary committee -> Immigration sub Committee
idea is to analyze the situation and come up with the best solution rather than waiting for
CORE to act on.

Students,
Please make sure your EAD doesnt start before October 2008. That way, you will have 2 complete chances of getting H1 if things wont change even after presidential elections.
General Rule of thumb is "Graduate in august put start date as October 1st for your OPT"
This is not easy coz when we graduated in 2000-2001 area we didnt had to choose some date just bcoz the visa ia not available. We used to worry more about getting a good job than this visa and we used graduate when coursework & thesis are complete. I think things have changed drastically.

Your PD is not yet current.
If they have issued GC to you, it was a mistake and you should report it to USCIS to avoid future problems.
There were several discussions on this forum about this issue.
Report to USCIS ASAP that you have been approved by mistake.

As an IO working in USLameIS, I absolutely cannot agree with your sentiments! In fact, that is the worst idea I have ever seen. Why, if we did that, we would give you applicants a sense of security. We can't have that. You would be released from your suffering and anxiety. That would render our cleverly thought out process to make-you-wait-forever meaningless.
On top of that, you add a layer of work to me! That cuts into my 3 hr lunch, 2 hr coffee time, and 1 hr toilet break. NO!
And the worst thing ever is: should the idea be implemented, it would add transparency to what we are doing and.. and.. oh noes! *GASP* we would have to provide accountability! NO NO NO NO NOOOOOOOooo.
