Hello,
With hard 7% limit per country; our numbers within EB category are at 10,000 (it's not a huge number even if we apply 7% on EB+FB).
There are at least 250,000 people waiting on GC from India alone, at this rate it will take 25 years.
Am I wrong, I really hope I'm terribly wrong.

I am no expert on this but if labor substitution is eliminated it will remove anywhere from 30 to 50% of labor cleared from BEC. I know a lot of people who have applied for labor 2 to 3 times, they applied for a new labor every time they went to a new employer. It is these extra labor certifications that are being sold

hi,
my parents will be travelling to the US in a couple of months, and I was looking for health insurance for them. Based on various forums, looks like US companies are preferable to insurance bought from india (and as per forums, ICICI lombard seems to have the most negative reviews among the indian firms).
Anyways - has anyone used insu buy .com to buy medical insurance for their parents, and had to make a claim? They seem to be an insurance broker -- so the insurance company will be a third party, but they (insu_buy) seems to claim that they will also help out with claims in case of any issues.
Anyone have any experience buying + claiming insurance via ? (and if so, what was the insurance company that sold the claim via ?)
I searched immigration voice forums for "insu buy" but though there are many threads about medical insurance for parents, there doesnt seem to be any mention of -- so any experiences shared will be helpful.

Are you Millionaire?Do you have lot of money or lot of savings? Even with US passport the moment citizens cross 50 years they are on death bed in US. One hour in emergency room (just hello and goodmorning) in public hospital cost $1000.Its a capatilist country and they dont care about people and even citizens.If you come to US then dont get ever sick. I know in Canada and UK taxes are high but when you need services NHS and other agencies are always there to help you and protect you. It takes 1000 days in Canada for parents to get PR and after PR they are all eligible to use Canadian free public health system.20000 pages of new Obama's health care reform and it does nothing regarding pre-existing conditions, immigrants,high deductibles and aged US citizens.Even full time employeed people with employer insurance really have to fight very hard to get their insurance pay for necessary medical services in US.Its because all insurance companies are always looking for bogus and false reasons to just deny even ligitimate claims.
I strongly suggest all indians and immigrants to please dont ever grow old or sick in USA otherwise your American dream will give its real nightmare reality.

They are from the so-called conservative states.
I haven't heard anything positive for our cause from senators from the so-called sophisticated/liberal states like Illinois (Dick Durnbin & Obama) , NY , MH (Kennedy and Kerry), CA (Boxer and Fienstein) for our cause. In fact they have gone towards family immigration and are screwing us in the process.

I totally understand the emotional point of someone being want to be a Indian Citizen but I have to stress there is no other country in the world like U.S.A. This is the country where every human being is treated with utmost respect (don't try to show me exceptions - U.S. is a country where most of things are close to being perfect imaginatively), have freedom to say anything they want without getting intimidated and U.S is a country I believe will be the last bastion for humanity when terrosists/fundamentalists spread their tentancles and take over the world by force or other means (if not now probabbly in the next 100-150 years). Hypocrisy is relatively less. We Indians live in a dream world nurtured by the Indian politicians, who try to inject doses of patriotic non-sense into the masses while they themselves stove away million of dollars in Swiss banks. 70% of Indian population lives below poverty line and the educated masses of India think that their country will become a super power by 2020. Politicians like Mayawati play caste politics and dream of taking the top most post while our liberal media, without a wee-bit of shame, extends its highest support for them. Corruption is part of our daily life and we are part of the everyday corruption but we still find no fault in our society. Our population growth is beyond control while not a single politician is concerned about the stress it is going to create on our natural resources in the future. Our education system is in shambles but our great politicians fight for increasing the reservation system to different castes just for the sake of garnering more votes. And the list goes on. What is the difference between Patriot America & Protection America other than 90/10, 80/20 option. From the comparision chart everything else looks the same. Patrior is slightly cheaper than Protection. One thing that I noticed is you can not renew Patriot if its bought <3months initially, however, Protection can be renewed. Any other good reasons for the price difference?

Couple of my friends, who have 3 year degrees from India and also have 2 year Masters degree from India, have not been able to apply for EB2. Their lawyers suggested that 3 year degree are a hindernace to get EB2. They both have not tried applying for EB2 and both have active EB3 applications.

One of my friends(who was in my company earlier) got his old H1 case reopened. He is not that worried as he already has left the employer and joined someone else.
This is little strange as USCIS is digging the dead.
I am keeping a close eye on my case which got approved in 03/2005 and has LUD of 08/2006. Seems like they opened the case earlier but I didnt notice it.

I & my colleague filed a complaint against our ex-employer early this year and the DOL W&H said they will work on our case in then next 3 months; they are currently working on cases filed in the last quarter of 2007. The reason why I filed a complaint was not because I need the money he owes me but because he exploits every employee and I wanted to bring him out in the open (will post the outcome once DOL does something about it). The fact is, as long as the employer knows he can get away with shit they will continue to break rules. Now that ICE is cracking down on er's hiring illegal immigrants you will see that er's will stop hiring them. I think the reason why we cannot get our much deserved provisions passed in the house and congress is because of the fact that today lots of US Citizens and Green Card holders are loosing their job to the people who are illegally present in the U.S. I don't beleive in shit, "Employer's cannot find U.S. workers". The fact is that employer's are not willing to pay workers the wages they deserve. Imagine one hour of Federal wage today after taxes will only get you 1 gallon of gas.
The employers are happier to hire illegals as they can pay them shit wages, they don't have to pay er's contribution of social security wages, no er's contribution of state taxes, no Medicare tax, no workers compensation. Just imagine wont we be annoyed if we can't find a job in India because Nepali or Bangladeshi (no disrespect to these countries) illegal migrants are talking our jobs away from us by working for lower wages.
Sorry for all this rant; I am tired of waiting for GC for the last eight years and am tired of people sitting on their dump xxx hoping somebody will fight for their cause and they will get to reap the benefit. As to somebody's comment about India being a colony for 150 years, do you think it would have happened if everybody had revolted one fine day (every single human being) against the Britishers? I guess everybody must be thinking, why should I get by axx kicked when my neighbour is doing it for me.
Yes it applies for IV too. We have a handful of monthly subscribers because everyone wants the other person to pay for it. If the problem needs to be solved, each victim needs to fight this problem.
